"Process: The pace is slow. The work is quiet and solitary. A faint plan yields challenges and organic discovery.
I represent forms that facilitate empathy – such as the head.
I choose warm and familiar materials: Pencil, paper, wood, light and shadow.
Touch creates connection – every block of wood, every corner of the page, touched by a human hand.
As the world becomes more abstract and mediated, I seek primary experience to maintain contact with nature and feeling. Sharing the work connects us.
The Big Head is empty: Devoid of gender, logic, culture, content, context, policy, ideology, and concrete form. Though it exists today, it belongs to no person, place, or time in particular. The viewer’s experience fills this space."
